I had to take an exam...needless to say, no one did well and the teacher let us all retake it the next week. What stood out to me was how perfect strangers who would've never spoken to each other before were comforting each other.Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10685771837066772269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760284705417192775.post-69294073215355135442008-09-12T08:07:00.000-07:002008-09-12T08:07:00.000-07:00I was in bed with my sweet newborn and my husband ...I was in bed with my sweet newborn and my husband turned up The Today Show and woke me up. We watched in horror and he said, "Those towers are going to fall." I sat there and waited for them to fall so it wasn't a big surprise when they did. It was really hard to believe that there were still people in there that died with the fall. Alan went to work and I was really scared thinking about all those people. He came home 20 minutes later and we talked about it all day.

Hug Derek and tell him that he is appreciated!Tracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09998069585904730402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760284705417192775.post-53034921288448862222008-09-11T18:34:00.000-07:002008-09-11T18:34:00.000-07:00I was at work at HH. Those of us not in the classrooms gathered in the breakroom to watch, teachers, and therapists came in to check on breaks and we kept going back & forth to keep them updated. Many parents came early throughout the day to pick their kiddos up. One therapist had a brother who lived just blocks from the towers & worked in one of the towers; we all cried w/her as she tried to reach him that day. She finaly got him & he was safe!

A day none of us will every forget.

I am so grateful to all of our soldiers for standing up for us & our country. When I got to my next class there was a TV on and when the professor came in he turned off the TV and told us it would be on the news when we got home. The entire class got up and walked out! I went straight to my apartment and watched the horrific news for the rest of the day! I ran into the TV room just to see the first plane hitting the tower. We sat glued to the TV all day, my college campus closed and my mom was sent home early from work. We spent the day as a family just horror stricken. It is a day that I will remember forever.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760284705417192775.post-20982794939060720222008-09-11T13:58:00.000-07:002008-09-11T13:58:00.000-07:00You've already read my 09/11 post, so you know...You've already read my 09/11 post, so you know where I was. I love to hear all the stories of where people were and what they were thinking... and how it impacted their lives.

I have an even greater love of country since 9/11 and total admiration for our military. My nephew, Cory, is still serving, but his brother, my other nephew, John, was in Iraq during the Shock & Awe. He was in a tank in Nasiriya when they had that long battle over a bridge. Kerry Sanders, NBC, was with his battalion (?)... so every time he came on... I'd be looking for John. Thank GOD he came home safe!Jacquiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07306641980039598264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760284705417192775.post-70677648724476375352008-09-11T10:11:00.000-07:002008-09-11T10:11:00.000-07:00This day always gives me chills and brings back so...This day always gives me chills and brings back so many memories!

I was getting ready to go to my Nutrition Class at MTSU. I was a store manager for White Barn Candle Co (part of Bath & Body Works). I was eating lunch and called to check work voicemail and the voicemail left was about closing the store early because of what happened and I had no clue what was going on. I turned on the TV and found out. Such a terrible day! I was pregnant with Ethan at the time and Tim was working at a bank and ended up getting layed off after 9-11. You are right, I will never forget that day or the days that followed when that was ALL we watched on TV.Candyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12239174348843848233noreply@blogger.com
