I'm Tired Y'all

I feel exhausted. I'm plain tired. Do you ever feel that way? Since school has started, I have met myself coming and going. I just "thought" I was busy while Evan was in pre-school. We are running all the time now! It is all for good though. The drive to Evan's school every day, twice a day is more than worth it thus far, and after school every day I take him to a therapist we adore.

School has surprised me. I was totally prepared for it to be something I would not be 100% pleased about. Oh, me, of little faith sometimes. I have prayed for Evan's school situation, especially Kindergarten, for years now, and wow has God answered BIG time. This public classroom setting Evan is in right now is wonderful!

It kind of got off to a sad start, as one of the paraprofessionals in his room was electrocuted in a lake at a designated swimming area. She jumped in the water to help her son, who is six, because he got electrocuted while swimming, and then she couldn't move when she got in the water to help him. It was a terrible tragedy, as a 12-year-old girl they were with drown in the accident, but luckily Evan's teacher and her son were rescued and have recovered. I had no idea you could get electrocuted in the lake! Just tragic.

It seems that the teachers and students have now settled in, and Evan is doing great. They have paired him with a paraprofessional that is from Jamaica. She is so kind and nurturing and Evan has had a bond with her from day one. I thought this was so interesting that he latched on to her so quickly, but I soon learned that she has a brother with autism, and then I understood. This may sound interesting, but I firmly believe Evan picks up on others that "get him." I think that is why he loves her so much. She understands autism. She is firm with him when she needs to be, but also lavishes him with love and understanding. I mean, what else could I ask for? To top that off, I was on my way to the parking lot when a Speech Pathologist came over to meet me because the school district hired her to be a full-time speech therapist in the classroom. Speech and language is probably Evan's biggest hurdle, so this was GREAT news! God is good...all the time.

Oh, and I'm not the only one tired around her. Evan also seemed a bit run down with a runny nose and watery eyes and a little whiney when I got him from school, but he is acting like his old self now, thank goodness. Little precious didn't get a very long nap today, and this is where I just found her. Up until this point, she has been very busy, which is why she doesn't have on her pajama top. She got it wet. Water seems to be a new love!

Please tell me she will always be small enough to fit her entire body on a bean bag!

Thinking about today and Evan's school made me think about this song. I mainly know about this group because my grandmother LOVES them, and I have heard a quartet sing this song in church before. I'm sure you've heard it, too. It just makes my heart happy and is SO true! Plus, these guys can break. it. down! Ha!

Bless your heart, you have reason to be tired! It sounds like Evan is having a wonderful school year. I am so glad! And sweet little EG, if I had a bean bag I think as tired as I am right now I could curl up on one too! Of course, I wouldn't fit on it as nicely as she does.

God IS good ALL the time! So happy you are happy about Evan's school situation. Sounds like a prayer by a loving mother has been answered!

I love to see a little child just drop where they are and sleep! That is some good sleeping!!! Older people would pay big bucks to be able to sleep like that!!

Your little ones look absolutely adorable while they are snoozing! I wish I was still small enough to fit my whole body on a bean bag, but we won't go there! I am so glad that Evan is having a wonderful time in school. God is certainly answering your prayers by pairing him with such special people. He is good!!

I can't tell you how happy I am that school is going so well. (I know that is something you have worried about for a while - what a relief)

This is the time of the school year when we are so very tired too, but for us it does eventually even out again.

Wow! I am so thankful that Evan is having a good year. Kindergarten classrooms should be full of people who LOVE children, and it sounds like the sweet lady who is working with Evan is definitely in the right job.

I agree, this school thing wears me out! I feel like I live in the carpool line!

Tired momma here also. I am feeling for you. So glad that Evan's school is so good, that is awesome about the speech. I know how it is to have a person that "gets" your child, it is HUGE! EG asleep in the bean bag made me laugh, I remember when my little girl could fit, lucky I have a younger one for a little longer I can still hold in my lap. God is good and you are right I give him praise for all our children.

Amen sister...God is good! Girl, I'm so tired, too, since school has started. I honestly don't know how full-time working moms do it. I struggle to get forms filled out, our very little homework done and the backpack ready for the next day. On top of the Back to School night and PTA meetings and this is much harder than I thought. I should probably blog this myself :)

I'm really glad Evan is doing well in school. It sounds like God has had his hand in all of this and especially with his para.

Very cute picture of EG! Oh, and I WISH they stayed that small :).

EG is too precious! I would just love to curl up beside her and sleep myself. I am so sorry that you are exhausted, but I hope this weekend will be a good time to relax ;).

I am so happy that Evan is having a great school experience. I love reading about his updates, his progress, and how much he is loved!

Can't wait to hug you!

I'm tired, too. I feel like I've over-committed to things lately--it's my own fault, I guess! EG is so sweet sleeping on that bean bag. It makes me so happy to hear that things are going so well with E and his new school--I know you are just so thankful!

And that is terrible about the lake tragedy. I didn't know that could happen either...just when I was KIND-OF working through my fear of water and having the kids around water! Goodness, how sad.

My husband got to meet Becky (Looking Thru The Eyes of Luv blog) the other day at Southwest Airlines. I told him to look for her because he was flying passengers to Little Rock. Anyway some how they ended-up meeting! What a small world! Yall have a blessed weekend!

Momma's do so much better when they know someone who cares is caring for their "baby". You deserve that peace. Evan will do well in that kind of environment.

EG just crashed, didn't she? So cute.

I too am saddened by the lake tragedy. Does that have to do with the lake levels being high or something?

Hang in there! I agree, the start of the school year is SO tiring getting into the new routines. I just love the sweet picture of EG asleep, just a wonderful reminder of carefree childhood days!
