Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July is one of my very favorite holidays. It always has been, and may be even more so with having recently gone through deployment. I am so thankful for our freedoms and for the men and women who have sacrificed so that my family may enjoy them.

We had a great day. My family came over to our house for barbecue. Initially, we were going to grill out burgers, but we had that whole e-coli beef recall in our state, so we opted to play it safe and get take-out from Corky's instead. I made brownie sundaes for dessert. It was all delicious. We had planned for lots of fun outdoors for the kids, but it sprinkled off and on, so we just had a good time indoors.

This was the most exciting event of the entire day...

Ella Grace got her toenails painted for the first time! She was so proud of her toes!

This is my niece, Sarah. Isn't she just beautiful?!

This is how Evan spent most of the day...roughhousing with my dad. This picture makes me laugh because my dad's hair is messed up from all the playing.

E & EG were so tired from their big day, they didn't even get to see any fireworks. I have caught glimpses from neighbors shooting them. I don't know how the kids are sleeping through all the noise. They MUST be exhausted. I hope you had a happy and blessed 4th!

God bless America!

Yeah for EG!!! Getting your toes painted for the first time - and on July 4th, too - is definite cause for celebration!! On top of that, guess what!! Alise has that same sun-dress!!!! EG and Alise are twinkies!!

Sounds like you guys had lots of fun today in spite of the weather!

Happy 4th!

Sounds like you guys had a fun
4th. It rained here all day as well. But hey, I guess the farmers needed it.

That is so cute of EG getting her little toenails painted! I remember doing that when my girls were little. Their toenails are so tiny, it's hard to do!

I'm glad you had a fun 4th!! :)

Ya'll are such a cute patriotic family.
Do you watch Army Wives on Lifetime? I just watched today's episode at lunch on DVR and cried my eyes out. I was thinking about Derek and you. I told Scott I would just die if he had to go to war. I'm so proud of anyone like Derek who is so brave and has been there.
