Dog Ears

I'm so excited because Ella's hair is now long enough for dog ears. I had to totally distract her so she would let me do it, and I had to be really fast. She looks so cute! If any of you moms out there have any tips on getting little girls to let you fix their hair, I'd love to hear it. We have had a hard time just keeping in bows! She takes them out instantly. She has already tried to take down her dog ears, too. Here she is with her new do...

Oh, and there is the bangs issue. Do you cut them or let them grow? We are in that bad stage where they are so long they are always in her eyes (because she won't leave in the bows), but I've heard bangs are so hard to grow out later on. I'm thinking I'm letting them grow. What do you think?

I also wanted to post Evan's school picture we got back last week. He is not smiling his beautiful smile, but he still looks so handsome! For some reason, I really love the pictures of my children where they have a "natural" expression. I just love that! I think I've mentioned before that I love photography. I constantly have a camera in my children's faces. I think Evan is so bored with it now. Plus, a few days before this was taken, I had taken him for his professional portrait session. So, I'm sure he was like "Not again!" It's hard to believe his next school picture will be taken at "big school." Oh, I'm sick just thinking about it!

Okay since Claire is the biggest bow head ever, here is how it happened. I always sat her in the sink so that she could watch me fix her hair. Also, Tim always would say how pretty she looked and how much he liked her bow. If she ever took it out I would put it back in immediately and say "So Pretty". It also helps to have her hair in a ponytail holder to clip the bows to. They are less likely to take them out that way. You just have to be more persistant than she is! Good luck. It is a worthy cause!

OH MY GOODNESS. They are both so gorgeous! I LOVE Ella Grace's hair! And the picture of Evan is very GQ! :) I don't think either one of them could take a bad picture!

I can't believe the Pilgreens are your neighbors! Please tell them I said HI and to give Sydney a big squeeze for me!

I called Tina when Sydney was first diagnosed and was just amazed at her strength. She had gotten in contact with another little girl's (Brooklyn) family who also went to the "other school" and had been diagnosed with the same thing a few years prior. It is really SUCH a small world.

What's crazy is Tina knew Brooklyn's family, Tina knew Becky, I knew Becky, Tina, and you, and I think my eyes just crossed...but seriously, I just feel all of these connections were divinely engineered for prayer purposes. Isn't that amazing???

Ella Grace's hair looks so cute!! Don't know the solution to her leaving it alone though.
Evan looks so handsome in his school pic! I like pics too sometimes when they don't smile! Very cute!! I love your new blog look also. :)

First of all, Evan looks adorable! I love the natural expression.

Now, I have no advice on how to keep bows in girls' hair. Kylie always kept them in but now won't touch one to save her life!! BUT, about the bangs....Let them grow! They are so hard to grow later and you can always get them cut. We cut Kylie's just this year after Christmas and she looks much more polished. They grow like a weed, too!

Her hair looks too cute with dog ears!!

Okay, girl, I don't have any little girls but I would try and grow those bangs out. If you don't do it now it might not get done. I love her piggy tails...little girls look so cute with those! I like Evan's photo, too!
